Hey Daniel,
Met you a few times through your local coffee shop( I will leave the name out for privacy), and Bryan. Gotta say that Nothin stays the same is my Fave! I want to recommend to you and the rest of the group to check out Greazy Meal. There an old "Best of Minnosota" band that might inspire. Their album "Visualize World Greaze" has some great piano/synth riffs. Hope to sit and chat over coffee someday instead of just passing by!! Playing in Seattle Soon?

Hey Marcus! Glad to hear that someone in Brazil loves us
No S. America tour plans right now, but man that sounds fun. We're working on the album as I type. About 3 songs are done at the moment. Release date is a hard one to predict on this album - we're really taking our time and just being flaky artists about getting it done. That may be good or a disaster ... hard to say yet. At first I thought it would be a 2008 release for sure but anymore I'm thinking this is a 2009 release. I'll definitely keep everyone posted via the blog and email list.
Glad you're enjoying the music. Spread the word in Rio de Janeiro!

Hey, guys. I am a real fan of yours from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I discovered you from listening to Reggie singing with Soulive, after they came to Brazil. Do you already have a name for the forthcoming album? Is there a due date for releasing? Is there a chance of touring South America or maybe just Rio? I got all four other albums and can“t wait for this next one.

Mad Dog -- I don't think so. We haven't been asked, but we also haven't been planning on it. If that changes I'll be sure to let everyone know.
In other news, the recording is going well. More mixing today ...

Hi Adam - thanks for writing! Glad you're listening to Maktub in Indonesia. We're currently working on a new album - I'm doing piano overdubs this week and Thaddeus is doing some guitar work, too. No plans for touring right now, but thanks for listening.

SURREAL MINNESOTA MAKTUB EXPERIENCE: KARL ROVE'S THEME SONG?
We find ourselves living in this small south-eastern Minnesota town which happens to be hosting the Minnesota State Republican Convention this weekend. Guest speaker is that idiot Karl Rove, so we sit in the guest section to heckle and hear what the enemy has to say. After his lies and Obama-hating, the convention adjourns, and we hear "Everybody's got some devotion, hidden somewhere along the way...We stand our ground...You can't hide..."
How could this be? Is this Rove's new theme song? Have Republicans co-opted our beloved Maktub? Are they saying that Obama can't hide? Is this their version of Clinton using Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop Thinking about Tomorrow" in 1992? Is Rove going to starting rapping again? Has Maktub given permission? What would Reggie et al think? What has the world come to?
We find our way to the AV section to learn that Republicans had nothing to do with this. The most excellent Jeff Taylor of Minneapolis had been hired as part of sound crew. So great to meet a fellow Maktub supporter (provided gear and support for Start It Over album) to reminisce about Seattle shows and the times the band has gotten to the midwest. Other songs from Khronos played on as the convention hall cleared.
So, many thanks to Jeff for bringing joy to an otherwise frightening event. Maktub continues to spread good vibes and bring people together wherever it is played. THANKS!
Ellen Goode and Dave Rider
